What People Are Saying
Best how-to book I've seen lately. Author does not start by telling you how to write the book. He starts with spiritual preparation. Next, he moves to marketing considerations. Yep—you don’t write the book until you’ve figured out the marketing. Every detail of your book should be tailored to the chosen market. Next, he deals with content planning and theme development, followed by writing the individual devotions. Warren shares examples from his own books, which was very helpful for me. He includes a chapter on publishing options to finish. He packs a lot of information into 72 pages! -Auntie Em
I'm writing a devotional for writers. I had no idea where to begin until I found this book. I prefer the printed page to ebooks, but made an exception here. I needed help. Lee gave me what I needed. Every detail I was looking for is spelled out simply for the layperson, so I thank you much. Look for my efforts God Speaks, You Write! Thanks again. Great book. -Denise McCoy
Very helpful for the novice like myself. Right from jump I found something I should have done first. Like title it BEFORE writing. I've been writing and publishing in website and social media for years, but doing a book is a different animal. Way different than I realized. Kudos to the author for sharing your expertise with those like me. -Laurie Ganiere
Thank you, Lee Warren, for writing this thorough, yet user-friendly book. As an author who wants to add devotionals to my repertoire, I now feel confident that I can do it. I will use this amazing reference guide repeatedly as I start working on my first devotional proposal. -Anita Agers-Brooks
Lee Warren's slim volume is a comprehensive introduction to devotional writing. His work spans the entire devotional spectrum and is an easily understood guide to writing your own devotions. As a multi-published devotions author, I found this book thought provoking and encouraging. I am currently considering compiling devotions I've written into book format for a targeted readership market. As such, this small 'how to' book will be a frequent reference work. Well written and engaging with oodles of examples, this is definitely a go to book for current and would be devotional writers. I heartily recommend this work. -Cass Wessel
